A premiere beer from the barrel room of Fortuna Brewery – a barley wine beer re-fermented with a strain of wild yeast of the genus Brettanomyces and aged for more than a year in oak red wine barrels, which has redefined the drink’s character. A beer with a decidedly vinous and harmonious flavour, with clearly discernible notes of vanilla, cherry and currant and a hint of a horse blanket.
The barrel: Obtained from the French vineyard Château Kirwan (Appellation d’origine controlee Margaux), used for 3 vintages of wine with a predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon varietal.
